If you want to go green:

3) Have a car free weekend; go for a ride on the Green Wheel instead. This 45 mile route was established in 2000 as part of a PECT project to mark the Millennium.
 
4) Ensure your home is insulated. Without insulation your home could be loosing as much as 60% of its heat through the walls and roof. You could be eligible for free or discounted roof and cavity wall insulation.

If you are a business: 

1) Make an office pledge to switch off all lights, and all computer monitors at the end of the day. More tips on greening your office...
 
2) Sign up for our e-newsletter to keep updated with our news, events and top eco friendly tips.
 
3) Sign up to the Eastex Materials Exchange to ensure your rubbish doesn’t end up in landfill and source second hand materials.

5) Register with the Volunteer Exchange to link with local schools who need volunteers to help with creating school veggie patches, digging ponds and creating outdoor classrooms.


  

If you are a school:

1) Check out the Greener Futures online environmental education tool for teachers and students (for Key stage 1, 2 and 3).
 
2) Visit the Greener Schools website for full listings of all local environmental teaching resources.
 
3) Register with the Volunteer Exchange to link with businesses that can provide volunteers for your outdoor classroom activities like creating a school garden or veggie patch.
 
4) Sign up to the Eastex Materials Exchange to source second hand items like arts and crafts materials, or office furniture.
 
5) Take the first step towards becoming an Eco School with support from our Environmental Education Officer.


  

If you are a community group:

2) Register with the Volunteer Exchange to link with local schools who need volunteers to help with creating school veggie patches, digging ponds and creating outdoor classrooms.
 
3) If you are based in Dogsthorpe or Central Wards register for our Communities Team to talk to your group about saving energy and money.
 
5) Get involved with the two-week Green Festival which launches on Saturday 22nd May 2010!
