Peterborough Green Wheel map
The Green Wheel cycle route provides over 45 miles of continuous sustainable routes around the city of Peterborough. Opening in 2000, it was one of the first large scale projects delivered by Peterborough Environment City Trust (PECT).

For those interested in cycling the Green Wheel you can either buy a map from Peterborough Tourist Information or view the map on PECT's website. PECT has launched the new online Green Wheel map to encourage more local people to use the route. Its easy to use and includes pictures and key attractions along the route.

Hi

The green whel is a brilliant idea but can we have a more detailed map on here please? The problem with the google maps is that you can't exactly see where you can access the green wheel, it only shows streets. e.g. I want to go from the railway station this evening to orton malbourne via longthorpe (to pick up my daughters flute from the repairers) and I don't want to go anywhere near the parkway obviously. It looks like, from the big map, there is a way to get there via the green wheel but which side street do I go down to pick up the track? If access points/roads were marked it would really help. thanks

For detailed maps the best place to look is the Travelchoice website - they have maps for download plus an interactive journey planner: http://tinyurl.com/39jbwny

Yet again another half effort with Peterborough city council. it seems what ever they TRY to organise or create something it just is never up to scratch and why should we have to pay £2 for a MAP. MONEY MONEY MONEY thats all it ever is but that just gets used on things like the mayors driver and silly fountains that just attract the scum of peterborough which is most of the population here for a free bath and lots of rubbish for all the shops that are struggling so much. im not paying £2 for a map when the council chose to spend thousands of pounds on the destinantion centre that is just glammed right up which is over staffed and closes at 4 on a saturday HAHAHAHAHA. excellent who thought of that one, oh and the womens centre........What was wrong with the one they had not only is it in a sort after area of town. but we allrady had one. tell me where is the Peterborough MENS centre????? this town makes me sick and has only gotten worse with all the filth that has moved here and all the shops that have not been able to afford there rates and leases...it needs to be addressed as there is too many empty ubits in this town and on first impressions nobody will want to come back here which is dramatically damaging a once healthy city.

I love the Green Wheel routes.

I am a runner who is training for the 2012 London Marathon my father in law and I have been training on these routes (I'm running, he is cycling).

I work in Cambridge so I often run there but have to make up a lot of the routes myself, these are brilliant as they are marked out and well signposted and the maps are very easy to follow and get hold of. Plus if you need to shorten or extend a route to fit a training plan there is plenty of scope to do that too!

£2 for a map is a bargain, you can also download the maps (here) and print them yourself if like me you don't want to get the original copy damaged (no pockets, sweaty hands, you get the jist) but the quality isn't as good as a bought copy.

So far to date we have done:

Celtic Causeway (7.4 miles)
John Clare Country Route (11 miles)
Nassaburgh Trail (13.5 miles)

Brilliant!
