To celebrate the 500th Seeding Sustainable Communities project survey we decided to give the participant a Green Makeover for her home.
Mrs Thurley from Welland was in for a grand surprise when we sprung upon her the news of her Green Makeover!
I set about finding donations for the makeover and was pleasantly surprised by the number of willing supporters I found amongst the good traders of Peterborough. So on a windy Friday afternoon Patrick and I set off to install all of the fantastic green goodies we had procured.
The green makeover included:
-
A water butt donated by Anglian Water
-
Two mega rider’s donated by Stagecoach
-
A kitchen caddy & weigh and save bags donated by Lakeland
-
A large green veg box donated by Riverford Organic Vegetables (based at Sacrewell Farm)
-
A compost bin donated by Peterborough City Council
-
An eco cleaning voucher donated by Green Clean (an eco friendly cleaning company)
-
Bike lights from Robinson’s bike shop Cowgate
-
A big bag of products from Lush
And all these other wonderful goodies donated by PECT:
-
Seeds
-
Get a green grip bag
-
Smart meter
-
Eco-driving lesson
-
Thermometer
-
Tyre pressure reader
-
Light bulbs
-
TV power down
-
PC power down
The makeover was a great success, we had a fantastic time! Mrs Thurley was really pleased with her green goodies as were her two daughters. Nyree had arranged for a photographer from the Evening Telegraph to be there so we all felt like superstars, it was brilliant fun posing for the photos but once again its Patrick & Mrs Thurley who have the best pic of the day...

The Seeding Sustainable Communities project has been made possible by Anglian Water.
