Come and join Herbalists Sarah Gray and Rasheeqa Ahmad for a day of wild herbalism in the ancient woodlands in Bretton. We will be identifying medicinal plants in the wood and telling you about their medicinal actions and uses. We will show you how you can identify them yourselves and how you can use them to make your own herbal remedies.
In the afternoon continue the wild medicine theme and learn how to make infused oils from the plants we find and turn them into creams and ointments such as Plantain ointment for insect bites or Chickweed cream for skin rashes or even a Pilewort ointment for, guess what, piles! Spring is the perfect time to detox and nature has blessed us with spring herbs that help us to do this. We will also be making a herbal vinegar from the cleansing herbs growing at the moment, such as dandelion, nettle, hawthorn and cleavers.
This will be a relaxed workshop aiming to inspire you to want to look further into the magic of herbs and the living medicine growing all around us.
