Climate Change Strategy
The main objectives of the Climate Change Strategy for Peterborough are to:

  • Identify how the climate in Peterborough is forecast to change over the next 100 years.
  • Determine the impact that climate change will have on Peterborough as a whole, and all areas of Peterborough City Council operations.
  • Assess the contribution that Peterborough city Council currently makes towards the causes of climate change.
  • Identify the most efficient and effective measures that will be required in order to mitigate and adapt to the impacts of climate change, especially in light of plans for development in the city.
  • Report on projects that Peterborough City Council has already undertaken to reduce the effects of climate change.
  • Determine methods of partnership working with other organisations to help tackle climate change.
  • Provide a framework for all Council departments to consider for any future policies and activities.
