PECT’s Peterborough Energy Audit was launched in 1998 by Alan Meale MP, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for the Environment, and copies were requested by two House of Commons’ Standing Committees.

 

The Audit has identified the following: 

- The total citywide energy consumption for the year 1996/97

- Key areas where energy efficiency action would have the maximum positive impact without detrimental side effects to private and business consumers

- A series of local indicators and measurable targets

- Projects and strategies to enable Peterborough to reduce its energy consumption and carbon dioxide emissions in line with national and international targets
