forest for peterborough

Important notice:

After running the green skills share scheme Greeniversity for the past six years, we have now reached the decision to close the project. Through the project’s lifetime, we have been pleased to offer more than 4,000 learners nationally the opportunity to share and develop green skills.

2016 will be the last year of the project, due to the current challenging fundraising climate combined with the increasing use of online skills share sites such as Pinterest and YouTube, where people can quickly and easily learn new skills digitally.

Our aim was always to make Greeniversity as useful as possible for the communities it served and therefore we felt it would be more impactful to put these resources into new projects that could achieve far-reaching results. We would like to thank all the fantastic volunteers, learners and teachers who have been involved with Greeniversity – we couldn’t have achieved what we did without your amazing support. Thank you.

The charity Peterborough Environment City Trust (PECT) will still be aiming to include events and learning sessions online at www.pect.org.uk, so we hope all our supporters will continue to make use of this free resource and also sign-up to our e-newsletter to be kept up to date with all the latest news and events happening across the city.
