SUMMARY:Lunchtime Concert: Kate Williams and Derek Scurll Jazz Quartet
DESCRIPTION:Lunchtime Concert: Kate Williams and Derek Scurll Jazz Quartet: Tuesday 30th October 2018 (1pm – 1.45pm) \nWe kick off a short season of jazz/folk lunchtime concerts with the Kate Williams and Derek Scurll Jazz Quartet\, who’ll be bring us a blend of music from the Great American Songbook\, and Latin jazz classics on voice and vibraphone. \nKate Williams studied classical singing at the Guildhall\, and then ventured into work as a jazz vocalist alongside a successful teaching and therapy career. \nDerek Scurll studied music at Selwyn College Cambridge and is now an in-demand orchestral percussionist and jazz drummer. His vibraphone playing is at the heart of this new project. \nKate and Derek are joined by Fenland-based pianist Ivan Garford and Jose Canha on double bass. \nAs usual the café will be open from noon\, serving a range of hot drinks and home-made quiche\, cakes\, scones etc. All profits from the café will go to The Green Backyard. \nThe concert will begin promptly at 1pm. \n\nAdmission is free\, but those who are able to afford it are asked to make a donation (suggested amount is £5).\n\n\nTuesday 30th October 2018 1pm – 1.45pm\n\nSt John the Baptist Church\, Church Street\, Cathedral Square\, Peterborough PE1 1XB\n\nAn Events at St John’s/Green Backyard event.
