SUMMARY:Great Fen Creative Painting Workshop (Ramsey Heights)
DESCRIPTION:Friday 10 May 2019 10am-4pm \nCreative Painting Workshop at the Great Fen\n\n\nJoin local artist and environmentalist\, Charron Pugsley-Hill for a painting workshop with a difference in the heart of the Wildlife Trust Great Fen. \nThis painting workshop is suitable for all levels of painting ability. \nIt’s about having a go whilst increasing your confidence with your creativity\, in the moment\, being inspired by the nature we find around us. \nThe workshop is tailored entirely to those present. \nThis is a fun\, happy workshop\, without any right or wrong as the art is created intuitively\, trusting yourself to be inspired by the colours and nature that surrounds us. \nIt’s more than art as you connect to the place\, to the natural world and to others present at the workshop. \nCharron describes her workshops: “My workshops allow the participants to begin tapping into the intuitive process for themselves. I want people to trust themselves more and create art that is a part of them not me. No group photo of everyone with the same painting at the end. I want people to explore themselves and the world around them as an adventure of excitement and wonder. Being intuitive is full of surprises\, connection and excitement as you never know what is going to unravel on the canvas or paper in front of you. I continue to learn about myself\, others and the world around us as I continue the path of intuitive art making. It would be lovely if you joined me.” \nAll materials will be provided on the day as well as refreshments and cake! \nParticipants will need to bring their own packed lunch. \nCost: £60 \nBooking is essential: contact Rebekah O’Driscoll  on 01487 815524 or at info@greatfen.org.uk  \nor book online (Eventbrite). \nContact Rebekah for further information and directions as above. \n\n\n\n\nFriday 10 May 2019 10am-4pm \nWildlife Trust Countryside Centre\, Ramsey Heights\, Near Ramsey\, Cambridgeshire\, PE26 2RS \nA Wildlife Trust BCN/Great Fen event. \n  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

SUMMARY:Wildlife Training Workshop: Bat Sonogram Analysis (Grafham Water)
DESCRIPTION:Bat Sonogram Analysis Workshop Friday 10 May 2019 7pm – 10.30pm\n\nA workshop led by Aidan Matthews looking at the technology available to help identify bats.\n\n\nListening to bats on detectors is a skill which needs lots of experience to be able to positively identify an individual to species level\, especially as they only stay in range for a few moments. \nUsing a recording device with the bat detector means that the calls can be reviewed after the event and a greater level of accuracy obtained when identifying what bat species made the call. Variations in call type\, between species\, is easily seen and helps to explain what you hear when using a bat detector. \nThe training workshop will look at the range of species found in our area and have examples of the different software to view sonograms produced by recordings from a library file. \nTechnological advances in the last 5 years have also brought visual analysis to the field and this is extremely useful when dealing with multiple species and call types. \nEcological consultants are a key user of this technology for emergence surveys and long term monitoring\, but it also has its place with the amateur conservationist who wants to further their experience of bat identification. \n\nCost: £25 Standard. \nBooking essential: contact Juliette Butler  on 01604 774031 (Tues\, Wed and Fri 9am – 2.30pm)\nor email trainingworkshops@wildlifebcn.org \nFurther information including a programme for the day and a location map will be sent out to participants nearer the time. \n\nFriday 10th May 2019 7pm – 10.30pm\n\nFishing Lodge –  Meeting Room\, Grafham Water\, West Perry\, Huntingdon\, Cambridgeshire PE28 0BX\n\n\nA Wildlife Trust BCN training workshop.\n\n\n\n\n\n  \n\n\n\n\n\n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n
