SUMMARY:Green Networking - Now fully booked
DESCRIPTION:Please note this event is now fully booked \nThursday 12th September 2019 6.30pm – 8.30pm \nGreen Networking \nOur impact on the world\, as a growing human population\, is undeniable\, and action must be taken sooner\, because there may not be a later. \nGlobally we are using more resources than the planet can renew each year. The scale and impact of climate change is unprecedented\, and it’s the biggest challenge we have ever faced. We are already seeing the effects of rising temperatures with food insecurity and extreme weather conditions. \nThe Green Networking event\, organised by environmental charity PECT and supported by Peterborough Cathedral\, is an opportunity to meet likeminded organisations and professionals throughout the region who have an interest in the environment and sustainability. \nHear why climate change matters\, what we can and are doing about it\, and don’t miss the chance to get involved with discussions about making a difference for Peterborough and the planet. \nDr Toby Willison\, Executive Director of Operations at the Environment Agency\, will be the keynote speaker at this event with his talk: “What does the future look like with a changing climate”. \nToby first worked on climate change 25 years ago while researching the impact land use change has on carbon fluxes. For the last five years\, as Executive Director of Operations\, Toby has been responsible for the Environment Agency’s activities to mitigate and respond to climate change. \nThis event coincides with the exhibition Gaia\, an artwork by Luke Jerram\, which will be displayed at Peterborough Cathedral between 19th August and the 15th September 2019. This 7m diameter sphere features detailed NASA imagery of the earth’s surface and is a fantastic opportunity to reflect on the fragile beauty of the earth that we need to protect and care for. \nThe Green Networking event has been made possible thanks to support from Roythornes Solicitors. \nThis is a FREE event. \nAccess to the New Building is through the main entrance at Peterborough Cathedral. \nDrinks and vegetarian and vegan canapes will be available\, and there will be free entrance to the Gaia exhibition at set times during the Eco Networking event with your ticket. \n  \n \nThursday 12th September 2019 6.30pm – 8.30pm \nThe New Building\, Peterborough Cathedral\,  Minster Precincts\, Peterborough PE1 1XS \nA PECT/ Peterborough Cathedral/ Roythornes Solicitors event.
