SUMMARY:Gaia's Choir - Extinction Rebellion Peterborough - Westgate Arcade (PE1 1PY)
DESCRIPTION:Thursday 16th January 2020 6pm – 7.30pm \nGaia’s Choir (Extinction Rebellion Peterborough)  \nGaia’s Choir is an Extinction Rebellion choir based in Peterborough UK. \nOur first public outing was to sing under the earth in Peterborough Cathedral\, to accompany a die-in\, since then we have sung at several protests and developed a lively diverse community. \nWe meet each Thursday between 6-7.30pm at the Soul Happy shop in Westgate. \nAll are welcome as long as they align to Extinction Rebellion Peterborough’s Principles and Values: \n1. We have a shared vision of change\nCreating a world that is fit for generations to come. \n2. We set our mission on what is necessary\nMobilising 3.5% of the population to achieve system change – using ideas such as “Momentum-driven organising” to achieve this. \n3. We need a regenerative culture\nCreating a culture which is healthy\, resilient and adaptable. \n4. We openly challenge ourselves and our toxic system\nLeaving our comfort zones to take action for change. \n5. We value reflecting and learning\nFollowing a cycle of action\, reflection\, learning\, and planning for more action. Learning from other movements and contexts as well as our own experiences. \n6. We welcome everyone and every part of everyone\nWorking actively to create safer and more accessible spaces. \n7. We actively mitigate for power\nBreaking down hierarchies of power for more equitable participation. \n8. We avoid blaming and shaming\nWe live in a toxic system\, but no one individual is to blame. \n9. We are a non-violent network\nUsing non-violent strategy and tactics as the most effective way to bring about change. \n10. We are based on autonomy and decentralisation \nWe collectively create the structures we need to challenge power. Anyone who follows these core principles and values can take action in the name of Extinction Rebellion. \nJoin us for fun\, friendship and a chance to sing in peaceful protest. \nThere is no charge to attend but a donation to Extinction Rebellion Peterborough is welcomed. \nThursday 16th January 2020 6pm – 7.30pm \nSoul Happy Zerowaste Pantry\,13 Westgate Arcade\, Peterborough PE1 1PY  \nNext sessions:Thursday 23rd January 2020 and Thursday 30th January 2020 6pm – 7.30pm  \nAn Extinction Rebellion Peterborough event.
