SUMMARY:Tree Planting Day
DESCRIPTION:Want to make a difference to your local environment? Want to volunteer with a project that is creating a long-lasting impact for the area and its residents? Don’t miss joining in special Forest for Peterborough tree planting days this season! \nVolunteers can drop-in to tree planting events to help PECT plant over 180\,000 trees in and around the city and surrounding countryside by 2030. The target is to plant one tree for every person in the city in order to improve tree coverage\, improve our green spaces\, and the quality of air we breathe. \nCalling is advised on the day\, because events may be cancelled due to poor weather conditions or finish early due to all trees being planted. Please wear appropriate clothing  for outdoor work and sturdy footwear. All equipment will be supplied and no prior skills are required. All ages welcome. \nThis is a Forest for Peterborough event.

SUMMARY:Film Screening - In Our Hands: Seeding Change
DESCRIPTION:A chance to see this stunning new feature documentary from The Landworkers Alliance and Black Bark Films. The film will be followed by a panel discussion. \nFilmed throughout 2016\, this documentary tells the story of the revolution that’s taking place in farming in the UK. These are real life stories of real life farmers who are taking back control of their lives and their livelihoods. \nIn 67 minutes the film takes you on a journey of hope and inspiration through the stories of these farmers\, who refuse to be ground down by the machinery of agri-business. \nThe film captures the daunting and exciting Brexit moment as the UK leaves the European Union and begins to redefine its farming politics for the first time since the Second World War. \nIn Our Hands shows how we can ‘’bring back life to the soil\, a fair wage to the farmer and a flavour to the tomato’’. \nThe future really is …….. In Our Hands. \nFree event but donations appreciated going to the Green Backyard and the Landworkers Alliance. \nThis is an In Our Hands/Green Backyard/Metal Peterborough event. \n
