SUMMARY:TRASHedy and Eco Games Workshop
DESCRIPTION:For one night only\, Sunday 11 May\, 2025\, TRASHedy – international\, award-winning theatre about the environment and climate crisis – is coming to Peterborough’s Key Theatre. \n \n\n\nA mountain of plastic takes centre stage in this electrifying mix of theatre\, dance\, and multimedia. How many plastic cups will you use in a lifetime? How much waste will you leave behind? And what does it say about us as a species? \nIn TRASHedy\, two performers dive headfirst into the absurdity of our consumer-driven world\, unearthing the tangled roots of so-called ‘ecological intelligence’. \nAs they dig through the chaos\, their questions – and the towering pile of trash – only grow. \nIn addition to this refreshing\, inspiring comedy\, the Key Theatre is hosting two additional events for climate-curious audiences to engage with. \nEco Games Workshop | 2:30–3:30pm | Swan Room | FREE\nHosted by Jumped Up Theatre’s New Creatives\, this fast-paced workshop is accessible\, energetic and designed to help young people imagine their own impact. Reserve tickets here. \nTRASHedy | 4–5pm | 11+ | Subsidised tickets from £7\nRazor-sharp\, unapologetically funny take on personal responsibility and the freedom of choice. Because everything we do has an impact. Somewhere. Book tickets here. \nPost-Show Social | 5–6pm | Swan Room | 11+ | FREE\nConnect with the climate-curious audience and fellow local organisers to see what’s going on in the city and get involved.

SUMMARY:Walking Football: Leighton Park
DESCRIPTION:  \nWant to give Walking Football a go this summer? Here’s your chance. \nWhat is Walking Football?\nWalking Football is a small-sided ball game\, involving many of the same skills as Association Football\, but with one big difference: players are not allowed to run. \nThe ‘beautiful game’ played at a slower pace\, this low-impact\, no-contact sport is suitable for people of all ages and abilities\, including those with osteoarthritis and joint problems. What’s more\, studies show that playing Walking Football can help people stay mobile as they get older\, reducing the risk of falls. \nIt’s a safe and sociable way to stay fit and healthy outdoors\, whether you’ve played football before or are a complete beginner. And best of all\, it’s great fun! \nHow do I take part?\nThis summer\, PECT is offering four FREE Walking Football taster sessions for adults at Leighton Park\, in Orton Malborne\, with a coach from the Peterborough United Foundation. \nThe first of these sessions kicks off at 11am on Thursday 5 June. \nYou don’t need to book. Just turn up and have fun. \nParticipants should wear appropriate clothing and footwear (e.g. trainers)\, suitable for playing on a grass surface.

\nThe fourth session kicks off at 11am on Thursday 26 June. \nYou don’t need to book. Just turn up and have fun. \nParticipants should wear appropriate clothing and footwear (e.g. trainers)\, suitable for playing on a grass surface.
