SUMMARY:Habitat Maintenance in Castor Hanglands - Work Party
DESCRIPTION:We need your help with habitat maintenance. \nCastor Hanglands is one of Britain’s first national nature reserves and a very important part of John Clare countryside. Due to its array of species and wildlife it requires year round support and management to make sure all the variety’s of flora and fauna can thrive and flourish. If left\, some more delicate grassland species can quickly become overwhelmed. \nOur work party will help to cut back these more aggressive and domineering plants to help maintain these fragile grassland habitats. \n  \nOne of the JCC team will meet you at the road entrance to the reserve and guide you to the work area. There is very little parking at the site so expect to park along the roadside and walk around half a kilometre to the event site. \nIt can be quite wet and cold so please wrap up warm and wear appropriate footwear. Bring a snack and drink along with you and extra layers are highly recommended. There is an array of wildlife on site including free roaming cows and deer.

SUMMARY:Do More\, Waste Less

Please don’t hesitate to let us know and we can look into arrangements for you. \nAll you will need is yourself and something to take notes with. There will be a small range of refreshments\, but please feel free to bring your own lunch (and water bottle). \nPlease note\, this will be a pilot run of the Introduction to the Circular Economy module and we will kindly ask for any feedback that you have on this session at the end to help us improve the content and its delivery. SUMMARY:The Rubbish Easter Egg Hunt
DESCRIPTION:On Saturday April 16th 2022\, The Bretton Project will be proud to present the 2nd Annual Bretton Rubbish Easter Egg Hunt. \nThis year\, to make sure everyone gets a fair chance to win eggs and treats\, we will be hanging\, hiding\, or balancing\, Easter themed tokens and decorations around Bretton Park. \nWhilst collecting litter\, the children will\, hopefully\, find the tokens\, which they can exchange for Easter prizes by giving their bag of litter to an organizer at the start/finish point! \nOur starting and finishing point will be the Peterborough Lions Rugby Club. So come along with your kids\, collect a litter grabber (limited amount available) or gloves and some rubbish bags and hunt for those prizes whilst helping to clean up our community. \nHappy Easter. Hope to see you all there!\n#forthecommunitybythecommunity

SUMMARY:Ufford Community Orchard Planting Event
DESCRIPTION:Our final tree planting event of the season and it’s a spectacular one. We will be planting\, with your help\, 50 fruit trees on the land just opposite the beautiful Ufford Hall. The trees will be planted over three tiers so that their stunning yearly blossom can be viewed from all directions. \nWe will meet outside the main gates of Ufford Hall at 10am and\, following a very carefully laid out planting plan that has nature at it’s very heart\, plant the trees together. We will aim to be finished around 2pm. \nChildren are welcome at this event as long as they are supervised by an adult at all times. \nThe White Heart will be open if volunteers wish to have some refreshment after the session. It does however get busy so we do suggest booking ahead. \nwww.whiteheartufford.co.uk \nPlease dress for the weather and wear sturdy shoes. \nIf you have any questions regarding the event please email johnclarecountryside@pect.org.uk or call Mike on 07886507208
