The independent charity Peterborough Environment Trust (PECT) is saving households money by supporting them to make positive environmental changes, which also reduces carbon emissions per household. The project is helping residents to stay warm and healthy through providing advice on energy bills and potential behaviour changes.
Residents receive a free home energy advice visit from an impartial advisor, gain advice on choosing the best energy tariff and supplier, receive information on the national £140 Warm Home Discount and get a free energy pack.
PECT’s scheme has already proven its success, helping nearly 200 homes within South Holland already this year, with the aim of delivering over £45,000 of energy savings through the funding received from Fenland Green Power Co-operative.
