Try some measuring and estimation in the beautiful community green space to work out areas and edges, and look at patterns and shapes in nature. The session will be run by Fran Hunter, a union learning rep from HMRC who delivers ‘bite-sized’ learning to colleagues. This event has taken its inspiration from the National Numeracy Champions’ programme.
The event will take place in the beautiful surroundings of The Green Backyard, and if it’s wet don’t worry – the session will take place in the covered classroom. The event will last about an hour although you can stay longer if you wish to do some more maths puzzles and activities.
Greeniversity is a national green skill share initiative that gives people the opportunity to teach and learn everything from bee-keeping to bike maintenance through free sessions, helping to create sustainable communities for the future. Whether it’s cooking, growing, making or mending – anything goes as long as it’s green or helps build community spirit.
The event venue is The Green Backyard, next to Apex House, Oundle Road, Peterborough PE2 8AT. For more information or directions, contact Peter Reynolds on 01733 866445. Book your free place online at www.greeniversity.org.uk.
