Greeniversity volunteer recognised for achievements

Volunteering

Peterborough Environment City Trust’s national project, Greeniversity, recently awarded its volunteer of the year with a certificate celebrating his achievements. The award was presented by PECT’s Chair Steve Magenis.

Greeniversity is a green skill share initiative that brings people together to teach and learn endangered skills, creating stronger and more sustainable communities for the future. Peter Reynolds volunteers with Greeniversity and helps spread the word about everything ‘green’.

Peter had gone over and above the volunteer job description to become a vital part of the Greeniversity team, bringing real enthusiasm, professionalism and fantastic ideas to the project. He has delivered consistently over a period of 52 weeks a year for more than 18 months.

Peter currently reviews new events added to the Greeniversity website, responds to enquiries from Greeniversity teachers and learners, and liaises with partner organisations about adding their free learning opportunities to the website. In addition to this he prepares introductory text for weekly newsletters, prepares flyers for upcoming classes and represents Greeniversity at local events.

Peter is a great environmental champion for the city and he is an amazing asset to the Greeniversity team.
