PECT Update

Are you passionate about making a positive difference in your community and the environment? Do you have an idea for a project that can help create a more sustainable future for Peterborough and beyond? Apply for a 30 for 30 fund grant!

As part of our 30th anniversary celebrations, we are offering grants ranging from £250 to £1000 to support 30 community-led projects within 30 miles of Peterborough. These projects, will need to align with PECT’s core vision and values of protecting and enhancing the natural world, promoting health and wellbeing, and inspiring people to live more sustainably.

Projects may encompass a wide range of initiatives, such as tree and wildflower planting, community events to encourage social cohesion and reduce food waste, environmental talks to raise awareness, and more.

Applicants can apply individually or as part of an organisation, including but not limited to parish or town councils, neighbourhood groups, sports clubs, youth groups, faith-based organisations, and more.

“Over the last 30 years, PECT has stood as a beacon of local action to improve the environment of Peterborough and Cambridgeshire. That need has never been greater; PECT will continue its mission to work with businesses, local government, schools and communities to make our local places sustainable,” says Toby Willison, Chair of PECT. “As we celebrate the last 30 years of PECT’s impact, we are focused more than ever on our efforts to ensure we have a sustainable future for our children and grandchildren.”

Stuart Dawks, CEO at PECT, says, “The 30 for 30 fund represent an exciting opportunity for individuals and groups to bring their sustainable ideas to life, and PECT is excited to be able to support these initiatives. We want to inspire others to create a greener, more sustainable future for Peterborough.”

To be eligible for a 30 for 30 community grant, applicants must be located within a 30-mile radius of Peterborough and demonstrate how their project aligns with PECT goals. The PECT team are also on hand to help with applications if needed.
