PECT volunteers win Peterborough Civic Awards

Volunteering
In February 2016, the charity Peterborough Environment City Trust (PECT) was delighted for two of its volunteers to receive Civic Awards. The Civic Awards scheme aims to recognise residents, groups, organisations and businesses that have made a real difference to their local community.

The awards are a small way to say thank you to the people who go out of their way to help others and recognise the great work that they do.

Peter Reynolds won an Environment Civic Award for his vital input to PECT's green skills share scheme, Greeniversity. Peter’s enthusiasm for the environment has been a lifetime passion, and over the years he has created an environmental collection at Central Library, participated regularly in the city’s Green Festival and served as a member of Friends of the Earth.

The Young Person Civic Award was won by Michaela Anthony for the passion and initiative she has shown by volunteering with PECT.
