SUSTAIN Lincolnshire

Business Responsible Resource Use

PECT delivered support to help businesses improve their resource efficiency as part of SUSTAIN Lincolnshire

SUSTAIN Lincolnshire helped businesses across Lincolnshire save money and reduce their impact on the environment.  The expert help was provided free of charge to eligible small to medium sized enterprises in the county. This service was part funded through the European Regional Development Fund and is managed by Lincolnshire County Council (LCC).

Every business uses resources – water, electricity, gas, fuel, raw materials. We helped businesses to reduce the costs of their resources through effective management. Not only is this good news for the environment, but it saves you money too.

The SUSTAIN Lincolnshire project ended in October 2015.

The work included:

  • Resource efficiency audit
  • Resource efficiency action plan
  • Renewable Technologies
  • Environmental Management Systems (EMS) Training
  • On site support
  • Resource efficiency campaigns

Deepings Building & Plumbing Supplies, and sister company Eco Building Products worked with SUSTAIN Lincolnshire to improve their resource efficiency and install a range of renewable technologies saving over £17,000 a year.

P&R Plant Hire achieved ISO14001, helping them to maintain a competitive edge when tendering and retain a key contract with the Environment Agency. They have also recycled over 300 tonnes of material from the sites they have worked on.

Parrot Zoo developed a new environmentally friendly visitor management centre, including ground source heat pump and wind turbine. This will attract new customers whilst significantly reducing running costs.

The staff at PECT have a range of knowledge that assisted us in implementing systems to help us reduce our impact on the environment and help us save money too! PECT were always on the end of a line to support us when needed and offered many helpful activities as part of the support such as courses and conferences and newsletters, all of which helped us achieve certification for our Environmental Management System.
