Event Overview

Want to give Walking Football a go this summer? Here’s your chance.

What is Walking Football?

Walking Football is a small-sided ball game, involving many of the same skills as Association Football, but with one big difference: players are not allowed to run.

The ‘beautiful game’ played at a slower pace, this low-impact, no-contact sport is suitable for people of all ages and abilities, including those with osteoarthritis and joint problems. What’s more, studies show that playing Walking Football can help people stay mobile as they get older, reducing the risk of falls.

It’s a safe and sociable way to stay fit and healthy outdoors, whether you’ve played football before or are a complete beginner. And best of all, it’s great fun!

How do I take part?

This summer, PECT is offering four FREE Walking Football taster sessions for adults at Leighton Park, in Orton Malborne, with a coach from the Peterborough United Foundation.

The second of these sessions kicks off at 11am on Thursday 12 June.

You don’t need to book. Just turn up and have fun.

Participants should wear appropriate clothing and footwear (e.g. trainers), suitable for playing on a grass surface.
