Bonfire Celebrations with a difference!

Nature
Celebrate the end of the autumn season by joining in a special Forest for Peterborough tree planting day on Saturday 7th November, run by the independent charity Peterborough Environment City Trust.

Forest for Peterborough is an exciting project to plant over 180,000 trees in and around the city and surrounding countryside by 2030. The aim is to plant one tree for every person living in the city.

“The whole family will enjoy taking part in a tree-planting session,” explains the Project Officer Simon Belham. “Learn how to plant hedgerows and pick up some tree-planting skills, plus enjoy some warming drinks and autumn treats.”

This event will be held at Belmont Farm, Newborough PE6 7RU (follow planting site directions from Guntons Road, onto Middle Road, and then drive to the first turning point near the underpass and look for signs).

This free event is drop-in from 10am-4pm, but please bear in mind that the day will be finished when all trees are planted, so it is recommended that you arrive early! Please bring your own lunch. Register your attendance on 07724 931081 or via email at [email protected]

Forest for Peterborough is grateful for the support of the Mick George Community Fund. For more information about the project and how you can get involved, please visit the website at www.pect.org.uk.
