Call for everyone to get involved with national Zero Waste Week

Waste
National Zero Waste Week runs from Monday 5th – Friday 9th September 2016, and green accreditation scheme Investors in the Environment (iiE) is calling for organisations and individuals to get involved!

“This is a great initiative for everyone to get involved with. It will enable you to look at your day-to-day actions in order to make long-lasting behaviour change,” explains iiE’s David Knight. “You don’t have to go completely Zero Waste; the idea is simply to think about what rubbish you produce and to try to reduce the amount of waste being sent to landfill.”

Zero Waste Week is all about helping the environment whilst saving you money – plus it’s free to take part in and fun! Whether you choose to tape office bins shut for a week, get a compost bin, not use your office printers for one day, or eat home-cooked food to reduce packaging, there’s plenty of ways to get involved!

Participants are encouraged to share photographs of their green pledges and activities on social media, tagging in @iiEUK. If you’re a business wanting to take part in the week and would like additional support, please email [email protected].
