‘Show the Love’ for Peterborough’s environment

Community & Education Natural Environment

As a member of the national Climate Coalition, the independent charity Peterborough Environment City Trust (PECT) is supporting the ‘Show the Love’ campaign this February. The aim is for organisations, charities and communities to join forces to take action and show the love for the things that could be lost to the impact of climate change.

Is there something you could be doing to tackle climate change? One practical way to combat the effects of climate change is to plant more trees in order to take more carbon out of the atmosphere. Through its project Forest for Peterborough, the environmental charity PECT is encouraging everyone to get involved!

So whether you’re a nature-lover, someone who likes to try new things or you simply need an excuse to get outdoors, then come and join PECT for its FREE Tree Planting day on Saturday 11th February.
Everyone is welcome, so make sure to show your love for the local environment and plant a tree at Werrington Open Space, nearby Baron Court. The event will be a drop-in session between 10.30am-4.30pm with last arrivals at 2.30pm. Make sure you register your attendance via [email protected] or by calling 07715372432.

Simon Belham, Forest for Peterborough Project Officer explains: “If we act together, planting one tree at a time, we can have a lasting impact and work towards a more sustainable future.”
There are plenty of other events happening too! Make sure to visit the website at fortheloveof.org.uk.
