The event is organised by Nene Coppicing and Crafts, a community-run project supported by the charity Peterborough Environment City Trust. On the day visitors will have the opportunity to try hands-on crafts, learn about local woodlands, try green woodworking using a pole lathe and shave horses, willow work, lino printing, take part in bug hunts and much more!
“Our aim is to encourage Peterborough residents to get involved with their local woodlands,” explains Project Officer Matthew Robinson. “We would love for everyone to get involved with learning about traditional skills, craft and conservation to help protect and cherish these important sites whilst having fun in the great outdoors!”
Please wear suitable outdoor clothing and footwear. Children are welcome but will require parental supervision. Parking is available in the Crematorium overspill car parking areas. Please respect other visitors to the Crematorium when attending the open day.
