Take part in free Wild Cooking Workshops

Food Nature
Peterborough Environment City Trust’s Love Local project invites you to a free learning session on spatula carving and outdoor cooking in local woodlands. Come to this event on Wednesday 17 June, at 9.30am-1pm or 1.30pm-5pm.

You will learn how to carve your very own cooking utensils, using simple hand tools, traditional methods and ancient woodland wisdom. Hand carved tools will then be used to cook a delicious campfire meal using the finest local, organic ingredients.

“Love Local is passionate about bringing people together to share, cook and eat good food and what better way to do it than in the great outdoors using a fire and utensils that you’ve created yourself,” explains Project Officer Emma Hookham.

Attendees will meet at Essendyke, Bretton PE3 8JD before being taken to the site location. Please note there are no toilet facilities at the site. Please come prepared for outdoor working with suitable clothing and sturdy footwear. Suitable for over 12s, and under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.

These workshops are run by the charity Peterborough Environment City Trust in partnership with City College Peterborough. Booking is essential because each session is limited to six attendees. Please contact Emma Hookham on 01733 882545 or email [email protected] to book.
