PECT worked in collaboration to create four Rivercare Groups within Peterborough

Keep Britain Tidy and Anglian Water funded 40 Rivercare groups across the region and PECT worked in collaboration to create four Rivercare Groups within Peterborough.

Groups of volunteers have been working together to clean out stretches of the River Nene. The scheme has been so successful that organisers have had to expand the project to include more groups.

RiverCare is a fantastic way for locals to get involved and do something practical to improve their local environment.

Mural

A mural inspired by a stretch of the River Nene, which is maintained by local RiverCare groups has been created. The mural represents a unique collaboration between different partners in the city. It was created by young volunteers and a local artist to help transform this part of the city centre, with the assistance of RiverCare, PECT, Railworld, a Community Payback team Keep Britain Tidy, Froglife, Blok Collective, Enterprise, #OnePeterborough.
Get involved

This project is a great opportunity for local communities to work together to protect the important habitats for wildlife. If you’re interested in helping to care for the city’s rivers please visit the Rivercare Facebook page.
