Event Overview
Friday 30th August 2019 5.30pm – 9.45pm
Bat Paddle
Canoes will depart Canoe2’s base at Rushden Lakes.
After a peaceful early evening paddle on the River Nene you will be met back at Rushden Lakes by your Wildlife Trust experts just as the bats are starting to come out.
You’ll then be taken on a guided walk of the Nature Reserve as dusk settles.
Everyone will have the opportunity to use a bat detector which picks up the ultrasonic frequencies used by bats as they hunt.
These events are run by Canoe2, who will be donating 50% of ticket sales from these events to The Wildlife Trust BCN.
Please note that, as per all Canoe2 canoe hire trips, you will receive a full Safety Briefing and Paddle Demonstration before setting off in your canoe, so you will be well prepared. Canoe Trips are not escorted on the river.
