Introducing lichens
Wildlife Trust BCN Chief Executive Brian Eversham will be our guide to the beautiful, fascinating and complex world of lichen.
Although you don’t have to venture far to find lichen, with examples surrounding us on surfaces such as roof tiles, concrete, tree trunks and, of course, gravestones, the majority of us know very little about these fascinating and complex organisms.
Indeed, lichens aren’t in fact a single organism in their own right, but instead consist of a mutually beneficial partnership between a fungus and one or more algae and/or cyanobacteria.
Wildlife Trust BCN Chief Executive, Brian Eversham, will be our guide to their beautiful, intriguing and decidedly different world!
