Event Overview
FREE Tuesdays Till Two lunchtime concert welcomes back Spanish pianist Antonio Oyarazabal, who made his St John’s début in June 2017.
In a programme entitled “Memorias de mi tierra” (Memories of my country) he’ll present a musical journey through some of the most beautiful pieces of the piano repertoire by the greatest Spanish composers.
Perhaps best known for their works written for the guitar, and for music which combines emotional intimacy and intensity with passionate musical fireworks, composers such as Albeniz, Falla, and Mompou also wrote wonderfully for the piano.
The concert will begin promptly at 1pm and end at 1.45pm.
Admission is FREE, but those who are able to afford it are asked to make a donation. The suggested amount is £5.
As usual the café will be open from noon, serving a range of hot drinks and homemade quiche, cakes, scones etc. All profits from the café will go to The Green Backyard.
