Event Overview

Facilitated by PECT, Heidi Latronico, this webinar is suitable for all sectors, EYS staff, and HAF providers.

Ideas will be shared about sustainable food practices and resources that can be used personally and as part of your provision.

An introduction to food miles, food seasonality, food waste and growing, will support an understanding of the need for different food choices for children, families, and staffing teams.

The course will also look at how we can significantly reduce our consumption of resources, such as single-use plastics.

PECT aim to give you a better understanding of recycling practices, covering the ‘7 R’s of Sustainability’ (Rot, Refuse, Reduce, Rethink, Recycle, Reuse, Repair), the myths around recycling and identifying plastics.

Throughout the session, many practical ideas and activities, links, hints, and tips will be shared. The aim is to support you to look at existing systems and consider relevant changes to reduce costs, improve health and have a positive environmental impact.
