Event Overview

Guided walk led by Sarah Lambert and Peter Kirby around Stanground Wash Nature Reserve.

Stanground Wash NR  includes part of the Nene Washes SSSI and an area of rail-side brownfield land with a varied flora including many species that are rare in the Peterborough area.

It also supports a rich invertebrate fauna.

The ditches contain water-violet which should be flowering, and there’s always a chance of seeing a water vole.

There are some trip hazards and the grass can be slippery when whet.

Please wear stout shoes or boots.

Meet at the small car-park at the eastern end of North Street closest address 83 North Street. Grid Ref: TL 2071 9727
