Event Overview

Walk in History in the John Clare Countryside and a guided tour with the history of St Kyneburgha Church, 900 years old this year.

This is a guided tour around John Clare Countryside. Take a step back in history walking the beautiful countryside where Clare would walk and visit his friend Edmund Artis, who would be excavating the remains of one of the largest Roman Praetorium’s (palace) in England. Where Romans once walked and lived, where Anglo Saxons made their homes. Ending with an Afternoon Tea and guided tour of Castor Church, St. Kyneburgha, which celebrates its 900 year anniversary in 2024.

Important Information

£25 per person including an afternoon tea & full tour.

£20 for church tour with Afternoon Tea.
